Camera, lenses, accessories. The minimal kit, the ideal kit, the over-packed kit.

    Minimal (one body)

Full-frame mirrorless body + 24-105mm zoom. Covers 80% of Namibia. Bring spare batteries and 2× 128GB cards.

    Ideal (two lenses)

Wide zoom (16-35mm) for dunes and lodges. Telephoto (100-400mm or 70-200mm + 1.4× TC) for wildlife. This kit covers Sossusvlei, Etosha, and Damaraland properly.

    Accessories that matter

Sand-resistant rocket blower + microfibre cloths (sand is the lens-killer). Polariser for blue desert skies. Lightweight tripod for dawn at Deadvlei. Drone (with permit) for Namib coastline.

    What to skip

Heavy carbon tripod (rarely justified). Macro lens (Namibia isn't that trip). Fast f/1.4 primes (you'll be shooting f/8–11 all day).
