A fully-kitted Hilux camper takes the guesswork out of Namibia camping. But every traveller still arrives missing something — usually the same three things.
What's in the kit
Roof tent (sleeps 2) or ground tent (sleeps 4), mattress, bedding, dual battery, fridge, gas stove, pots, plates, cutlery, kettle, table, chairs, basic recovery kit, head torch.
What you still bring
Personal toiletries, headlamps (one per person), warm sleeping layers for desert nights (5°C in June), insect repellent, sunscreen SPF50, sunglasses, a power bank, swimming costume, slip-on sandals for ablutions.
The three things people forget
1) Warm clothes — desert nights are genuinely cold. 2) A small pillow each — the kit gives one. 3) Cash — most campsites are card-friendly but the small farm campsites are cash only.
