Working Remotely from Namibia — Wi-Fi Reality Check

Can you actually take a Zoom call from a Damaraland lodge? Mostly yes, sometimes no. Here's the truth.

    City Wi-Fi

Windhoek and Swakopmund hotels: solid Wi-Fi, fibre at most properties, fine for video calls. Treat as you would European hotel Wi-Fi.

    Lodge Wi-Fi

Most lodges have Starlink now (revolution of the past 2 years). Damaraland, Sossusvlei, Etosha lodges — Zoom calls are realistic. Older lodges still use satellite — emails only.

    On the road

MTC SIM with data works in towns and along main tar roads. Dead between regions for hours. Don't plan calls during drive days.

    The realistic workflow

Heavy work mornings in Windhoek/Swakopmund. Light work / emails-only from lodges. Two full off-grid days per trip — expect them and plan around them.
