Where to skip
Sandwich Harbour 4x4 (dune drops, long day). Sossusvlei balloon (under 7 not permitted). Anything requiring 4+ hours in the car.

Gondwana Etosha Safari Lodge (family rooms, pool). Sossus Dune Lodge (early gate access — short, easy mornings). The Delight Swakopmund (family suites, kid-friendly menu). Damara Mopane (free-standing bungalows = nap-time peace).
The trip length
10 days max with toddlers. Two-night stays minimum at each stop. Build in two pure rest days at the lodge pool. Don't try the 14-day route under-5.
