Keep drive days under 4 hours
Kids tolerate 3–4 hours of gravel; beyond that you'll regret it. Build the itinerary around shorter hops — extra nights in fewer places, not more places.
What to pack for the car
Tablets fully loaded before the trip (no signal between regions). Snacks in a cool bag — Namibia is hot and quiet stretches are long. A pillow each. Wet wipes. A frisbee for lodge lawns.
Lodges that get families
Gondwana's Etosha Safari Lodge (pool, family rooms). Damara Mopane (family bungalows). Kalahari Anib (red-dune walks at sunset). NWR Okaukuejo (the floodlit waterhole is pure magic for kids).
The non-negotiable
Two cars seats? Confirm at booking and again 48 hours before delivery. We provide them but stock is finite in peak season.
