How it works
Light aircraft transfers (6–12 seater Cessna Caravan) between Wilderness Air or Westair-served lodges. 60–90 minutes between regions instead of 6 hours of driving. Lodges arrange ground transfer from the airstrip.
Where it's offered
Sossusvlei (Little Kulala, Kulala Desert Lodge airstrip). Skeleton Coast (Hoanib, Shipwreck Lodge airstrip). Kaokoland (Serra Cafema airstrip). Caprivi (multiple). Etosha (Ongava airstrip).
When it's right
Honeymoons, repeat Africa visitors, anyone over 70, anyone with limited time (you can do Namibia properly in 9 days instead of 14). And anyone wanting the deep wilderness without 5,000km of self-driving.
Cost reality
Roughly double a self-drive at equivalent lodge tier. Worth it for the time and energy saving if the budget allows.
