9 Days in Namibia — The Quick Classic Loop

When 10 days isn't possible: a tight 9-night route that still covers Sossusvlei, the coast and Etosha.

Nine days is the minimum we recommend for a Namibia self-drive that doesn't feel like a forced march. Below that, you're driving more than you're stopping.

    The route

Day 1: Windhoek arrival. Days 2–3: Sesriem (2n). Day 4: drive to Swakopmund. Day 5: Sandwich Harbour day. Day 6: Damaraland (1n). Days 7–8: Etosha (2n). Day 9: return Windhoek.

What you skip vs the 10-day

One night in Damaraland — meaning no desert elephant tracking. If that matters, do 10. If you just want icons + game viewing, 9 is fine.

    Drive day budget

Five real drive days. Average 350km each. Be at the lodge by 16:00 every night. Don't try to add Spitzkoppe — there's no slack.
