    Quirky, fun, mid-range. Vintage cars in the bar, family-friendly, big swimming pool. 20 minutes from the canyon viewpoint. Our default mid-range pick.

    Canyon Lodge (Gondwana)

    Sister property, stone bungalows tucked into kopjes. Quieter, more upscale than Roadhouse. Slightly closer to the canyon.

    Fish River Lodge

    The only lodge on the canyon RIM. Spectacular views from every chalet. Premium pricing, isolated location, scenic flights and guided rim walks included.

    When to skip the canyon

    If you're under 14 days total, Fish River is a long detour. Add it on 18+ day trips or when you're flying in/out of Cape Town and driving up.
