Is Namibia safe?
Yes, Namibia is very safe with a low crime rate. Especially the well-travelled tourism destinations. But as always, don’t leave valuables in the car and keep your doors locked.
Do we need yellow fever or any other shots to enter?
No, you can enter Namibia without any shots or drops. They do however scan your eyes at the airport (as any other airport) to check for serious infections illnesses.
Do the lions roam the streets freely?
No, they don’t. But in the wild yes.
Does Namibia have satellite and mobile connection all through the country?
Yes, almost 95% full connection and 100% satellite so GPS is being fully utilized.
Credit card and debit card facilities?
Yes you can use these almost everywhere but it is wise to carry a little cash around for if they don’t work or someone does not have the facility available.
When is a Peak Season in Namibia? Is it always hot?
The months between June and August are the coldest and preferred for hunting. And then from Oct till Jan it is the best hottest weather and also a rush to the coast lines. Feb to April is great weather and a less rush to all the parts. Although bookings should be done in advance as it gets booked out quickly.
Is it safe to drink tap water?
Allthough loads of Namibians still drink the tap water, we don’t recommend you do. We locals are used to it. But it might upset foreigners. Bottled water is available everywhere.
Do i need a visa?
Not all visitors to Namibia require a tourist visa – those nationalities which do NOT require a visa (for visits of less than 90 days) include:
- South African
- Canadian and
The countries which require a tourist visa are:
- South Korea
- most of the Eastern European countries
